Yesterday, I thought about what I will have to do when I'm back in Switzerland this September. (Edit: 2011, I was in Bosnia with the Military, I deleted those posts long ago)
I made a plan, what I have to do before I can start my travel and there was a big problem, because I will have to make 4-5 visas, before I leave. And that is absolutely impossible because I do not have time for this. (Edit: It worked out, just had to get a Chinese / Vietnamese Visa)
The next thing was to check the costs for the flight to Moscow and the TransSib (Trans-Siberian Railway). Turns out, this would cost me about $1300. What is the cost of a flight to Beijing? Only $1000, and there is one for $500? I can save 50%? Booked!
So I have booked my flight on the 1 Feb 2012 from Zurich to Moscow and then to Beijing. 13 hours and 30 minutes, it will be the longest time of my life to wait until I arrive.. I fly with Russian Aeroflot, I hope they are not as bad as I think :) (Edit: They were not, pretty decent actually)
And now to my normal daily life.. My Boss has found a little Turtle a few days ago, it was laying on its back and couldn't move. We built a little home for it:
And today, when I was in our garden, I found some fruits.. and they looked quiet familiar, so I asked our translator (Edit: they assisted us in our daily work in Bosnia) what it is, and turns out I was right. There is a fig tree in our garden, it isn't season, so the fruits don't have any taste yet, but looking forward to try them.
First of all, thank you for reading my blog!
I started this as a way to update my friends and family about my travels and had to edit it quite heavily as my English sucked when I started out:) I am still in no way native so please forgive me if there are any mistakes..
Maybe I should tell you first, its my dream to live in one of these warm countries abroad; in Asia, Australia or South America.
Most people know that I plan to volunteer in Tokyo next year if it works out. (Edit: It didn't)
My plan B is a diving school in Thailand, where I could become a diving teacher in eight months. This would be really great because I do not know if it is possible to stay in Japan after volunteering there. Japan has a really restrictive visa policy and I do not know if I could get a long term visa there.
As a diving teacher I would be able to work in nearly all countries with a beach and get a long term visa because of my job, so that would be nice.. (Edit: Never did that either :P)
Yesterday I`ve seen something interesting. There is an Taoist Kung Fu school in the mountains of China.. And its possible to stay there for one year and learn Taoist practice, herbal medicine, Mandarin and of course Kung Fu. For me, it sounds really tempting and I think about going there after my travels through Asia and Australia. (Edit: Never travelled Australia either, nor went to this temple unfortunately..)
My travel schedule:
In February 2012, I will start my travel from Zurich to Moscow and from there by train to Bejing. (Edit: I took a plane to Beijing via Moscow, as the TransSib was crazy expensive)
I will stay in China for one month and then travel through Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand and India (maybe Korea too) until August if I get my job in Japan. If I won't have my Job there I will take more time in the other countries.
After my travel / one year job, I will continue with eight months of school in Thailand to become a diving teacher. That will be done about August / December 2013.
Then I will take a plane to Australia and there I live like a backpacker for at least six months.
And after that I think I will go back to China to join this school for one year in the Chinese mountains.
All that is only a crude plan and it all can change during my travel, but if it works like I planned will travel a lot until 2015 :)
Edit: Wow, reading this in 2017, editing my terrible grammar and seeing how none of my plans worked out, is quite amusing to be honest..
